What a weird day, downwind weather legs, upwind downwind legs, kind of hard
to explain at the club afterwards!
Fourteen boats, sure looks to me like the fleets going strong!
We had a great time Saturday, made the right moves (read were in the right place at the right time) and didn't do anything stupid. We were actually quite relived when the wind abated before the gybe mark, my normal bow guy being absent. Old Sal stepped right up though and did a phenomenal job at multiple sets, douses, and headsil changes. Even more impressive with all of us breathing down his neck The crew work was aces especially considering that we still had only four commitments by Friday AM!
Had to work very hard to hold off Joan, we thought we were done when the westerly started filling in at the last weather mark filling that all too familiar white and purple kite, with us stalled trying to beat towards Berkeley. That little brown boat was really scooting, good on ya Joan.
Great Fun.
