Pizote is having teething problems with its new mast - the mast moving
around in the mast collar & cracking it forward of the mast. Don't know if
it is the installation job or flimsy construction of boats made by Schlocky
boat builders. 30/30s don't even have an alluminum mast collar like cheap
Catalinas, just fiberglass flaired up. We missed Lightship II cause of it &
it looks like we'll probably miss the southern cross on 8/11.
We did do a grand tour of SF bay on Saturday with friends in cruiser mode - beautiful day.

Bob,
Thanks for the kind words, we are still reveling in our not-often achievable
victory over Horizon-Job-Ed...
God, Allah, Buda or whoever favored us with a nice lee shift right at the wire which allowed us to once again swap the lead with IXXIS at just the right time...
Had quite the battle all the way from Bonita to the finish, I don't think we were ever more than four or five boat lengths apart, man did my neck hurt Saturday night...
As for the party, we sort of had a little moveable feast goning on around the raft up since the club seemed rather devoid of people.
I heard it was really howling Sunday, Would have liked to sail, but I don't know how good it would have felt getting up Monday.
Wonder what happened to the other 30/30s? I thought Laniakea and Pizote were going on this one, missed seeing Jason and Dan...
Until next itme
