AN INVITATION . PLEASE CONSIDER THIS POSSIBILITY! One of the best ways of strengthening our clubs (both CYCT and TYC), encouraging new memberships, and supporting local businesses is to INCREASE OUR VISIBILITY as a sailing community. We only have four Friday evenings left in this summer's "Fun on Friday" Laser action, and it's all right up against the shoreline along Ruston Way, by beautiful Jack Hyde park. Okay, okay, most of us don't have Lasers, BUT IMAGINE, we DO have boats, and we could use these four Fridays to "cruise the strip" along Ruston Way, just offshore. Fly your burgee, come on out, and cycle back and forth, back and forth, in front of all the restaurants. Hey, cruising by automobile is frowned upon by the police, but I'd bet cruising afloat would be embraced by the restaurants - imagine the view for their diners! Let's "kick it up a notch" and show our faces to the hordes of Friday evening strollers and diners along THE MOST VISIBLE SPOT WE CAN SAIL. It's not a race, so chill out, relax, enjoy watching the people watching you, and really enjoy seeing the Lasers in action.
MAYBE, JUST MAYBE .
The TYC Juniors will come out and play, too, adding their own Lasers and
420's! Let's make a spectacle of ourselves and get the waterfront talking!
WHAT COULD BE MORE FUN ON A SUMMER FRIDAY EVENING? Spread the word at your marina and throughout the Clubs. We can collectively have some FUN cruising the strip! Hey, membership chairs could even set up a little info table in the park for passersby .
SO CRUISE THE STRIP . ALL REMAINING FRIDAYS IN AUGUST, FROM 1830 ONWARD .
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
All the best!
