With regards to the moorage situation parking there is a statement on the CYC website by our Fleet Captain Race. I've pasted in the statement at the bottom of this email.
There are a few boats on the outside floats that have not been sailed in a while and are anticipated to be a problem when construction begins.
Do you know the name of the short Asian fellow that has a boat near Laura, Scott, and Jim? He might not race. sail #169565, radial rig.
Secondly, do you know who owns the laser on the middle float with a grey top and bottom cover? It looks like its been sitting there awhile. sail #181788
The I14 fleet (Brian Keefe) asks if anyone knows the owners to contact them and make them aware of the need to remove the boats.
Here is a reprint from the CYC website regarding moorage and parking this weekend.
Good news to report. The Sound One Design Fleet Championship regatta will go on as scheduled October 8-9. However, as a result of marina construction, some boat owners may experience some inconveniences during the regatta. After talking with the Port of Seattle, I believe we have come up with a plan, which should accommodate all who want to participate in the regatta.
Dinghy Floats
The Port has agreed to delay empting the dinghy floats till after the regatta. However, all dinghies have to be off the floats at the end of the day on Sunday, October 9. CYC is working with the I-14 fleet and SYC to ensure that the floats will be empty when construction crews arrive the next day on the 10th.
The I-14 Fleet has put notices on the two outside floats asking any boats that want to stay for the regatta please contact Brian Keefe at 206-778-8879 to confirm. Otherwise they will be removing boats the week of October 3-7 in anticipation of the busy weekend. All of the tenants have received notice that their boat(s) have to be off the dock by October 4. Any boats that are racing can stay until the end of the day October 9 but need to call Brian so they do not remove their boat. Racers that keep their boat on the SYC dock need to contact Brian Ledbetter at SYC.
Parking
Parking within the marina will be severely limited during this time with the entire parking area closed from the new marina office site to dock Q. This will shrink the number of parking spaces from 1250 to 400 spaces. During the parking closures, they will be towing cars parked in permit only spaces immediately and not give a 24 hour courtesy notice before towing as they have done in the past. Unfortunately, with the limited parking, they cannot provide parking spaces for boat trailers during the regatta. Space within the dry storage area has also been reduced to provide space for construction equipment. The south hoist is now working but maybe down for repairs sometime after the regatta. Dinghy sailors bringing their boats from Lake Washington have the option of leaving their boat and trailer over night at the public boat ramp trailer parking lot or using guest wet moorage. Parking in the boat ramp parking lot is $12 for one night and $19 for two nights.
Guest Moorage
Keel boats and dinghies seeking guest moorage will have to contact the Shilshole Bay Marina office when they arrive since the guest moorage they have used in the past is gone. Each boater will have to contact the marina office for a dock/slip assignment and receive a gate key. Staff will meet the boat to collect guest moorage and to provide the gate key. The boater can contact the office by phone - 728-3006 during office hours (M-F 8:00- 4:30 or Saturday 8-3) or by VHF on Channel 17. After hours phone is 601-4089. Most of the slips that are available are located on S and T docks (30 ft.). Boats larger than 30 ft. will be assigned throughout the marina depending on availability. Guest moorage fees are based on LOA.
