Hey Mike,
I had a chat with Nathaniel when we had the clinic in Seattle a few years back. There was one thing the old vang did that the new one will never do. You could snap the line out of the old vang and leave it loose (heading into the top mark). When you rounded the top mark the line would run free while you eased the boom and it would magically lock pretty much in your downwind position. He loved the way that just worked. I don't know if thats Sheidts thing but at the time you could tell that Nathaniel was having a hard time finding a reason to switch. Also, I guess when your the fastest guy on the planet you don't change anything until your not!
