I noticed that last year and asked Carlos Fanucchi (a compatriot of Robert's and ILCA South America Chairman) why Robert had not converted. He said that over so many years that Robert had developed a very acute "feel" for the "old" vang (when adjusting it) and didn't like the new one. Since he is at the top end of the fitness spectrum he doesn't need the power (indeed, many of the top guys remove a purchase from the "new" system).
Don't know if that helps but I thought it was interesting...
