Hi Mike and all other POCs,
The 2004 Jericho Classic will be on June 5 and 6, 2004 at the Jericho
Sailing Centre. I will be the contact person for the regatta. Lasers,
Laser Radials and Laser 2s are invited. In requards to the Flites of
Spring, it has conflicted with the Kitten Cup for many years. I would
like to see a combined event on the last weekend of April. JSCA could run
the single-handed course while RVYC could run the double-handed course.
Costs, dinner, prizes and prize-giving would have to be worked out. The
last weekend in April makes sense for bothe organizations in that the
Royal Victoria Yacht Club usually has a regatta (Spring Dinghy) on the
first weekend of May and a week earlier is too early or other things are
going on at the clubs. I would like to hear from RVYC about this
possibility. If the Kitten Cup is only for juniors, then how about
promoting the idea of the parents (adults) bringing a Laser and competeing
in the Flites of Spring. Both sailors can race on the same weekend.
