My apologies for those of you who have already received this message on
the Laser List.
Ryan Minth, Tracy Usher, Mark Kastel, John Dawson-Edwards, Tim Landt and James Appel make up the Executive Committee of the ILCA - NA Region. They have drafted a set of proposed by-laws which can be viewed at on the Laser website: www.laser.org. They have asked that the District Secretaries / Chairmen to vote on this version and eventually they will have a set of by-laws in which all the members can vote on. At the present time, there are three sections which need clarification. The first section (4.02e) deals with wether a member of the Executive Committee should be a member at large or given the title of measurer. The second section (5.01) deals with the amount a member of the EC can spend before he requires approval for reimbursement. The amounts are: $100 US, $250 US, $500 US and $1000 US. Please choose one. The last section (which I don't explain very well), deals with a natural progression for members which starts at Treasurer and then to Secretary and then to Vice-President and then to President with each member serving a two-year term in each position or for the members to be elected each year. Please view the by-laws for a better understanding of these choices. Once you have decided which way you want to vote, please let me know so I can vote according to the wishes of the District 6 membership.
