LASER CANADIAN MASTERS, 2003

      DATE:
     June 6th. - 8th. 2003

     Royal Victoria Yacht Club, 3475Ripon Road, Victoria, BC. V8R 6H1 Phone

entertainment facilities. Interesting tidal racing which even long-toothed locals get wrong.

      ACCOMMODATION:
     Limited billeting, must be reserved.  Numerous motels and some

campgrounds in Victoria -see BC Tourist Accommodation Guide .

      CHARTERS:
     Limited. Contact Ken Brown, who will supply a list of charterers.  The

arrangements must then be made direct with the charterer and are not the responsibility of the RVYC or the regatta organizers.

      RULES:
     RRS with CYA prescriptions and the Sailing Instructions (which will

govern in the event of a conflict).

      ELIGIBILITY:
     Must be a current ILCA member or must pay and register with ILCA at

registration ($45 CDN Canadian residents. $35 US, US residents). Must have reached 35th birthday on or before June 6th 2003.

      CLASSES:
     Laser.  The Great Grand Master and Lady rule will be in effect.  These

persons may switch between Standard and Radial rigs as they wish, provided that the sail numbers on their standard and radial sails are the same.

      REGISTRATION:
     10 am - noon. June 5th.  Advance registration appreciated and cheaper

(see fees), made to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, with cheques made out to
the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Quote Canadian Masters Laser, give name, yacht club and contact email address or phone number.

      FEE:
     $65CDN ($45US) if register on or before May 20th.     $75 CDN, $55 US

if register after this. Includes coffee & donuts, Friday; on the water lunches, Saturday and Sunday; Dinner on Saturday night (extra tickets can be purchased for friends and relatives at registration 5th. & 6th.).

      SCHEDULE:
     Skippers meeting noon Friday, June 6th. First race 1.00 pm.  (this

gives those catching the first ferry on the 6th. from Vancouver, a good chance of starting on time). First race on Sat. & Sun 10am. No race will be started after 3.00pm on Sunday.

      FORMAT:
     A maximum of 12 races is scheduled.  Three or more races constitute a

series. One discard with 5 - 9 races, two with 10 - 12 races.

      SCORING:
     Low point system (RRS Appendix A).  Scores within age category, and

using the Laser Masters handicapping system for the overall results.

      PRIZES:
     First GGM, GM, Master, Apprentice, Lady and first overall on handicap.
