Here's the thoughts I gathered from the 2/18 meeting

Mission statement proposed ideas
- promote sailing in the laser fleet

• promote/sponsor racing in the laser fleet
• fleet building
• promote the social enjoyment of sailing and camaraderie
• promote competition at local, regional, and national levels

  Some examples
Our mission is: to make friends, have fun, learn, promote Thunderbird sailing,
  and to do it cheaply!

"Serious Sailing, Serious Fun" - Snipe

Our Mission is to encourage participation and promote excellence in   sailing and racing in the United States. Be part of it! - US Sailing

? - ISAF = SLF = NALC = ILCA Proposals for future racing

Remaining (3) Sundays (2/25, 3/4, 3/11)
- SYC folks (Doug?) will handle marks/committee boat/rescue boat

• Race fees paid from laser fleet funds

Support CYC Thursday night racing
- loaner boats?

• Reduced fees?
• Chalk talks afterwards?

For future "low budget" racing several ideas were voiced
- "charter" SYC or CYC committees to run

• get Seattle Laser Fleet (SLF) members "authorized" on CYC whalers
  • Club issues
    • Get trained up
    • Cost for boat
  • Liability issues
    • Fleet insurance (already paid for officers?)
    • USSailing certification for driver
• acquire a SLF boat
  • ladybug tune-up
  • new boat/engine
  • liability issues?

Free-form Mondays once daylight savings hits
- rabbit starts and fixed buoys

Race schedule for next (2) months

2/25, 3/4, 3/11 - Sunday racing @ shilshole, SYC committee
2/25-2/26 - Frozen assets regatta @ Victoria
3/17-3/18 - regatta (name??) @ UW
3/25, 4/1 - Spring weekend Series, CYC
4/5 - first Thursday night racing

This list is not all-inclusive. I don't claim to remember all. Please print out, scribble to your heart's content, and bring with you next Sunday.
Unless you're really good (dry), you may wish to leave it in your car during the sailing portion of the day.
