To all Laser Sailors
We just finished up a four Sunday series of Frostbiting with the CYC one design program. A total of 29 races were sailed in conditions that varied from 5 to 30 knots, flat water, big seas, strong ebb, strong flood, some cold, some warm. All conditions.
Lets see: 29 races, mostly sausage courses, some twice around, some triangles. The total tally was estimated at:
35 starts (a few gen recalls)
42 windward legs
42 windward mark roundings
42 runs
4 screaming reaches
2 jibe mark roundings
19 leeward mark roundings
and 29 finishes
Thats a lot of racing for four days. The Laser Fleet hosted the food at a post series party on the last race of the series with I-14 and Laser sailors in attendance. One comment from the post race party was that you'd have to sail the Center Sound Series for nine years to get this much racing. The new CYC Race committee has the message that we want lots of racing and that is exactly what we got. Any of you that did not come out in March, we hope to see you in April. Every Thursday night in April, we will do the same thing. Get yourself set up so you can slide out of work a little early. First start will be at 1800.
Congratulations Dan Falk; top Laser for the March Frostbite Series. Full
