Seattle Laser Sailors,
A guy in California has offered some prizes for the most well attended Frostbite series in the Nation during the month of January. I'd like to announce our frostbite series the two Sundays prior to Frigid Digit Regatta. We will start at about noon at Shilshole. That is January 17th and 24th. Everyone plan on coming out. We will have soup and beverages after racing to warm everyone up. We will also be out this Sunday December 13th (noon at Shilshole).
Everyone on this list is responsible for calling at least one other Laser sailor and getting them to come out. Radials are welcome. We can always use some help on the committee boat if you are unable to sail.
This past Sunday we had 12 races (that's 12 starts, 24 windward legs, 24 mark roundings, 12 downwind legs, and 12 finishes). That's more practice than you get in two regatta weekends. The racing went from noon to about 3:30pm.
The last weekend of January (30, 31) is the Frigid Digit Regatta. More later on that regatta.

The guys in Annapolis, MD USA and Ireland have inspired me...
20 boats out in 40'F weather on Sundays in the Winter time....GEEEEEZ! We are having a hard time getting 20 boats out at the bigger regattas and it is usually 60'F + here all Winter (Newport Beach, CA) so:
For the group that gets the most boats out in the Month of January for a
frostbite series we will donate five (5) smocks to their cause! Delegate one
person to be in charge....

district secretary and have them send them along to Allan Broadrib
(THE LASER SAILOR Newsletter) and myself.
