What happened was the stanchion tube (vent tube) was full of water or at least had quite a bit left in it. As I filled the tank, I pretty much covered
the entire intake hole. What I remember seeing was bubbles coming out of the base of the stanchion. This has to mean that the tube is gone or the hose connecting the tank to the
stanchion tube has a leak so that when it rains, some of the water that's flowing down the toerails goes into the tank. Wasn't a case of overfilling.
