A complete wrap-up of the news from the fleet meeting will coming to you
later. I wanted to share some of the more important decisions with you. A
very productive meeting was held that discussed every issue that has been
brought up this year. John did a great job organizing and running the
meeting. Steve Murphy got the club and refreshments for the fleet. New
officers are Dennis Godfirnon as Fleet captain. Al Navarro as Secretary
Treasurer. Mike Guccione as Fleet measurer and publicity. Mike Kirk is the
Webmaster and that position will be official recognized as in the by-Laws.
The rating of the boats have been discussed and we will recommend to
regional that a Base rating of 120 for the GP and 123 for the PC's and RC's
be adapted. This reduces the 6 point spread to three seconds and puts and
end to the many rating debates.
MIR Rule has been modified and no boats finishing in the top Three of the High point series will be able to have a MIR on Board the following year. The rest of the fleet will be able to use them. This is a great equalizer and should really promote racing.
Crew weight and numbers remain the same but a special exemption will be given to Mary in Newport on a race by race basis.
