Although i've never seen it done, I have lifted a very simmaler boat by the keel bolts with no problem. The only issue is getting the hoist right over the CG so the boat balances. If the CG is forward of the hatch, you could use a very stout what we used to call a 'reach around' or a 'c' shaped steel thing to lift at the CG.

No word on keel-hull.

Rudder bearings, what rudder bearings, mine needs attention here. In the gudgeon book they explain how to build up some carbon bushing faces without tearing the boat apart to install actual bearings.

Barients: Don't make them or replacement parts anymore...

A buddy of mine just bought a boat with the BMW, its actually a nice little engine, abiet somewhat anemic. Check for the presense of the little water separator just aft of the engine. Word is they would take a big gulp of water through the exhaust at shut off and die. Received on Thu Nov 1 10:50:12 2001
