Michael Kirk--
I received this solicitation from http://www.TrafficMagnet.net/. I don't know much about these things, but this is supposed to be a cheap way to get our web site listed on a whole bunch of search engines. Do these things actually work? Are they necessary? Do you think it's a good idea, or just a waste of money?
I spent a few minutes looking at their web site and determined that there are two methods to sign up for the service offered. A one-time fee of $60 for a one-time submission of our web site to over 300,000 search engines, or a monthly fee of $10 for monthly submissions, payable quarterly with cancellation at anytime upon expiration of the prepaid quarterly charge. So, it seems to me that the way to go would be to sign up for the monthly program, pay the first three months in advance as required, and then cancel within the first three months, thereby getting our web site submitted three times for half the one-time submission fee. Yes? Will this work? Is there anyway to verify that this is a legitimate advertising company before we give them a credit card number?
Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
