I was at Art Engel's racing seminar and he pointed out that all PHRF and Americap races are now category C races that allowing full advertising. I believe it is category A that restricts advertising. This rule applies to all US Sailing handicap systems. Yacht clubs can change this by writing a change in the rules but Cal Yacht club has decided not to in any of their races including beer cans. So here comes advertising. Non-Olympic one-design classes that do nothing are cat A. It was suggested for clarification that our fleet rules be modified to reflect that we have reviewed this question and will remain Cat A.

In the interim ANY Sailmaker wishing to provide free spinnakers with large logos all over the place call me quickly. mike Received on Mon Apr 23 08:37:56 2001
