I received a call from Art Engel the US Sailing Rules expert who explained this change to me. I am getting more information from him on this subject.

 Mike,

What has changed? I thought advertising was governed by the RRS Rule 79 and Appendix G which cannot be changed by S.I.s or prescriptions of national authorities.

Regardless, I think we as a fleet should stay around from it unless we get someone to sponser our Nationals or something in exchange for some small advertising on our boats as allowed by G3 Category A. Anything that benefits all boats equally would be fine. Maybe get Mount Gay to supply hats & rum, yeah! Just my opinion.
