I'm sure this has been talked about, but you can have another beakdown of
membership and have those who want hard copies of the Mainsheet mailed to
them to pay a premium. Another great way to have a newsletter financed is to
have a sailmaker(s) pay for ads which would cover the printing and mailing.
This would be incredibly cheap for a sailmaker to target a competitive group
such as us. The only problem is to have someone in the club to do the
footwork to get a sponsor or list of sponsor's.
I take care of a Great Lakes Olson 30 newsleter myself & send it out to
about 15 people. Once in a while I get some financial support, but most of
the time its just a labor of love.
