"LOST HORIZON II" WINS 29TH ANNUAL BVI SPRING REGATTA!
Day three opened with a number of yachts in contention for "Champion Yacht"
of BVI Spring Regatta 2000 especially with another two races still ahead.
Jamie Dobbs and his crew on "Lost Horizon II" were looking strong but had
"Who's Yo Daddy" nipping at their heels one point behind in fleet. "Rushin'
Rowlette" was still in with a chance and "Crash Test Dummies" (Last year's
CYA boat of the year), "Heineken PR", "Marriott Frenchman's Reef" and
"Andiamo" could well still take the title.
Day three of the BVI Spring Regatta saw consistent sailing for Jamie Dobbs and crew onboard "Lost Horizon II" pay off as they took "Champion Yacht" at the six-race regatta - and win division (Racing II). J-24 "Heineken PR" was second and Swan 48 "Andiamo" with Mark Ploch at the helm was third.
"Who's Yo Daddy" won Racing I and BVI boat "Pipe Dream" won Racer Cruiser
I. Mumm 30 "Twisted Lizard" took the Sport Boat division with two bullets
today and "Marriott Frenchman's Reef" won the Melges 24 division and was
the fourth placer in fleet. Racer Cruiser II went to the USVI's "Tempest"
while "Claims Paid" claimed top honors in the Beachcat Division with two
more wins today. "Jyu Ing" won the J-120 division. "Keep It Simple"
maintained its dominance in the Cruising Division with another win today
and "Ninth Charm" did the same in Multihull Division.
Moorings yachts "Candis Lyn" and" Transition State" won Bareboats I and II respectively while the Santa Cruz 72 "Hotel California" won Jib & Main. Received on Mon Apr 10 15:43:58 2000
