Please extend a big thanks to the entire Olson 30 fleet for the $200 donation to the STYC Blakely Rock Benefit.
It should be a great race. We have 84 boats registered for the race around Blakely Rock this Saturday. And the forecast is for sun and beautiful sailing weather.
As always, the Olson 30s will race in their own class and have their own start. We now have four Olson 30s registered:
a.. Aliens Ate My Buick b.. Crime Scene c.. Road Runner d.. Surfer Girl
Although registration is closed to all other boats, I've got permission from our Race Committee to accept late Olson 30 entries clear into Friday night. If anyone wants to give into the great weather and join us, (entry fee is $15) have them call me at home and I'll register them over the phone. I'm doing this in appreciation of the donations you provide each year for our designated charity (this year it is the Ballard Family Center). All proceeds from entry fees, the 7:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast, the raffle tickets and other donation will go the the Ballard Family Center. As commodore of the STYC I can say that the Olson 30 fleet has always had a special place in our annual Blakely Rock Benefit Regatta.
