Not only do the Dacron mains hold their shape longer they do not shrink like the laminate sails do. I sailed my Dacron Main in the SOCKS Regatta 1 week before the 1998 Nationals and had 30 knots all day. We then went out and tied for first in the Nationals, we then did Whidbey Island Race week where we had 2 days of 20-25 out of the 5 and came in Second just 1 point out of first. The last race of that regatta we were over early and sailed through 16 boats to come in second. This is all with the same main.
