I agree with limiting the sail selection down to 6 for afordability reasons
although I do not agree with the reasoning on keeping a #2.
More people will buy and sail Olsons if the cost are kept in line and the rules are easy to understand and not abused. If someone uses the #2 instead of a #1 when other boats are using a #1 they are not going to place any higher than if they had the #1. A green crew will make the same mistakes and have just as hard of time with the #2 as a #1 the size is not that much difference. However if they spend $2500.00 on a sail they do not use then they will be effected and probably be less likely to race in the future. A very good sailor and a good crew will know when to use a #2. A novice skipper and crew will not know when to use it and will most likely use it when they shouldn't. Limiting the choices they need to make is more important than the 1/2% increase of performance in one race out of 20.
